Runes Setup Quick Reference for Mac Users (Signet)
Quick reference guide for getting your Bitcoin Node, Ord, and Sparrow running on Signet. Note, this assumes you have already gone through all the setup instructions for setting up a Bitcoin Node on Mac and Ord on Mac.
Start Bitcoin Core on Signet
/Applications/Bitcoin-Qt.app/Contents/MacOS/Bitcoin-Qt -signet
Run Ord
ord --signet --cookie-file /Volumes/<your_ssd_drive>/Bitcoin/signet/.cookie --data-dir /Volumes/<your_ssd_drive>/Ord server
Create Wallet
ord --signet --cookie-file /Volumes/<your_ssd_drive>/Bitcoin/signet/.cookie --data-dir /Volumes/<your_ssd_drive>/Ord wallet create
- –name flag between wallet and create to name the wallet
- to retrieve you need the name as well
Wallet Receive
ord --signet --cookie-file /Volumes/<your_ssd_drive>/Bitcoin/signet/.cookie --data-dir /Volumes/<your_ssd_drive>/Ord wallet receive
- if named you need to use –name <wallet_name> receive
Load wallet on signet with faucet

Sparrow Wallet
Why Sparrow? The reason to use Sparrow is because the Sparrow wallet allows for very granular control over UTXO’s
Note: Mac users need to use older version of Sparrow - 1.8.4
Launch Sparrow on signet
open /Applications/Sparrow.app —args -n signet
